Directed by award-winning filmmaker Miquel Galofré and produced by Sustain T&T’s own Carver Bacchus, A Better Place tells the story of 5 five community- based organizations through the work that they do and how their experiences in diverse communities areas impacts their view of the world. Infused with local music, stunning visuals complement stories of hope, resilience and survival.

“A Better Place” takes the viewer to five communities in T&T where people are doing great things, charting their own course and inspiring others to do the same. Each of the featured organizations are also supported by UNDP GEF SGP.

The film also features musical performances from home- grown talent.

Miquel Galofré


Miquel is a documentary filmmaker born in Barcelona and based in the Caribbean. He has worked as a Director, Producer, Photographer and Editor for more than 25 years. With experience in television, commercials and feature film production, he has traveled extensively and filmed on location around the world. Miquel brings fresh insights and master craftsmanship to all his projects. His documentary “Songs Of Redemption” won the best documentary award at Krakow film festival in 2014 and recently his feature documentary “Art Connect” won the premier award at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival. Carver Bacchus


Carver is Managing Director of Sustain T&T, a social enterprise producing and exhibiting educational film content in the areas of environment and sustainability. He has over 15 years of professional experience in the areas of Management and Marketing, in both the public and private sectors. He leads Sustain T&T in providing branding, communications and visibility services to agencies with a public education mandate, informing audiences about issues affecting them, like climate change.

Green Screen | The Environmental Film Series is Sustain T&T’s marquee event, bringing environmentally themed films and discussions to communities in Trinidad and Tobago on an annual basis. Carver holds a BSc in Communications and a Diploma in Motion Picture Directing.
